Through centuries of seclusion, the Lötschental has its own culture and traditions, which live on to this day. The Lötschental was difficult to reach for centuries, until the Lötschberg railway was built around 1910. Nowadays, the valley is also easily accessible by car from the north and south.

Wiler
Wiler can be reached via Basel, Bern, Kandersteg, here you can take the car train to Goppenstein (approx. 15 min) or by train via Bern-Kandersteg to Goppenstein, then on to Wiler by post bus. Wiler is a small village with a supermarket, 2 restaurants, a pub, tennis courts and a minigolf.
World Heritage
The Lötschental is part of the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn area that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. World Heritage means cultural and natural heritage that must be preserved for mankind because of its unique universal value.
Summer
The area is a large and beautiful walking area with lots of natural beauty. With over 200 km of hiking trails you will never get bored.
Winter
The area is guaranteed snow: you can go cross-country skiing, skiing, snowboarding and hiking (Winterwanderwege) to your heart's content. You can ski almost from the chalet to the gondola and you can ski down the Lauchernalp to close to the chalet.
